Margaret and Bob Woodruff

In the early 1980's, Margaret and Bob Woodruff settled into Prescott in a new subdivision called Hidden Valley Ranch. Prescott seemed just right for this young retired couple. Margaret and Bob quickly formed many close friendships and found themselves fully integrated into the Prescott community. They participated in the painting of the timelines at the courthouse and library, joined the Friends of the Library and volunteered; Bob delivered Meals on Wheels and Margaret volunteered at the gift shop at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.

Although their young married life started in their hometown of Oak Park, Illinois, Bob and Margaret Woodruff ultimately spent the remainder of their lives in their adopted hometown of Prescott. Throughout their time in Prescott, YRMC played a big role. Margaret is a breast cancer survivor and had surgery at the West Campus of YRMC shortly after moving to Prescott. Many doctors and nurses cared for Margaret throughout her journey as a stroke survivor and with multiple surgeries. YRMC Hospice helped through Bob's passing, and the hospital was always there to provide emergency visits for children and grandchildren.

When Bob and Margaret decided on a charitable remainder trust, they knew it would be a wonderful contribution to the community hospital that means so much to the people of Prescott. Their donation is helping to fund the construction of YRMC's 100,000-square-foot outpatient services health center at the West Campus in Prescott.
